Blog blog blog

I've nothing interesting to say right now. It's almost christmas, I'm not a huge fan. I have to stop and visit everyone I don't see normally for a few hours on xmas just so they can eyeball me and act like I'm a bitch for not living closer. Then, I'll eat far too much and gain 10 more awful pounds that need to be shed for my "I'm going to lose 50 lbs this year" resolution.

I'll bake and bake, just to get the "well I'm diabetic" speech or the "you made peanut butter, I like sugar cookies" look. Merry Freaking Xmas!

I'll spend too much money on stupid gifts for people who don't give a damn, then I'll send thirty thousand cards to people and get only 5 in return. I don't think so. Not this year.

If you see me this year for xmas, remember that it took me a good long time to decide whether or not anyone would see me for xmas, so treat me with respect and dignity and don't gimme that snippy bull.

Can't wait for the booze at new year.

DOCUMENTARY IS A GO!

So Jarrod set up our sites for the Doc I've been blogging about recently. If you want to learn more about our project check out the WEBSITE, or our BLOG, which will be updated often.

We are beginning the process of taking donations, and you can also do that at our site. We are established on Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and Stumble. Please Add us!

If you can't donate any money, that's fine! We want your support anyway! Just forward our site to everyone you can. It would be a great help to us.

If you do decide to Donate, any donation of $25 or more will get your name on the credits at the end of our finished documentary. This cannot be done without the help of our friends and family, so please spread the word, and donate if you can.

THANK YOU!!
Andrea

Numb

So I'm feeling kind of...distant. From the world as a whole. Like maybe things aren't going great, even though I got a puppy a few weeks ago, Ava, who makes me super happy. I'm working on some projects at work that aren't boring, and on top of that I've got the documentary project with Jarrod.

We've had to push back the shoot dates from this coming Summer to Summer 2011, but it's going to take some time to plan, get funded and such...but Jarrod's setting up a non-profit organization for us to accept donations, and soon we'll be building a blog here on Blogger for our doc.

I've been distant from my blog, I know. I just got a new phone for my birthday, LG Xenon, and I've been doing all my internet-ing from there, but no blogging. (tiny keyboard not ideal for blogging.) I'll let everyone know when we get the site up and running.

Thats all I got...I'll let you know if something interesting happens.

Autumn 2009, Beginnings and Ends

As summer closes I feel sad having not utilized my time for maximum efficiency. I went to the gym today (Finally, after not going for some time) and it felt really good to wake up early and accomplish something, for me, for a change.

Work has been time consuming as of late, but the Cable board agreed to hire Jade to help out part-time, which should lighten my load, at least a little. Speaking of Jade, congrats to her finding a nice guy like Blake! I hope they find each other's company enjoyable for a good, long time.

Things are slow moving on the documentary. Jarrod's completely swamped with school/work/living in awesomeness in Hawaii, and I'm busy with fall festivals and local programming. We're working hard to get this thing financed, but it doesn't happen overnight.

Penny is in India, getting her doula training, (I have to fight the urge to scream "I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies" everytime I think of her becoming a midwife) so I feel even more distanced from her than usual. (probably because I am, literally.) She sent me a short email the other day, and I remembered how much I love her! She really is my soul sister, or something that sounds slightly less gay than that.

Finally, my birthday is next weekend. October 3, I will be 22. The party is Friday, the second and I'm hoping for a good crowd. Nothing fancy...fire pit, food, music...

Hopefully it will go well, but I'm not really worried. Ashton and Blakie will be there, so will Jade & Blake C. and hopefully Zack so I'll have good friends around me.

This Week's Workout Mix:

1 Dent May, "Meet Me in the Garden"
2 Muse, "New Born"
3 Passion Pit, "The Reeling"
4 Peter Bjorn and John, "Nothing to Worry About"
5 Queen, "Don't Stop Me Now" (I love running to this!)
6 Ra Ra Riot, "Can You Tell"
7 She Wants Revenge, "I Don't Want to Fall in Love"
8 Chris Cornell, "Long Gone"
9 MIA, "Galang"
10 Block Party, "Mercury"

Saw "An American Crime"(not a new release, but a good rental), which was brilliant and disturbing. Saw "Surrogates", because I love me some Bruce Willis, and didn't hate it.

Until next time...

Since We Last Spoke...

I wish I could blog more frequently, but Autumn means festivals, community events, and more work than one person (usually me) can deal with.

WORK UPDATES: Had some good shoots this week, have a few more next week. Super busy. Spoke with Jade about working part-time for the station after school, so hopefully I'll get some help soon.

OTHER NEWS: Working on a Documentary with Jarrod. Hopefully next summer we'll get to shoot, but no promises until we're properly funded.

The Big Idea: A sort of travel piece on Southeast Asia and how the many different cultures therein are affected by the Ramayana & Mahabharata

It's supposed to be a pretty deep subject dealing with cultures, artifacts, people, location, etc. An overall look at different places like Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, India, etc.

Jarrod's got the info, I've got the creative eye for video, and we both have the passion for travel, so this should be a really promising project. More news as this story develops.

MOVIES:
Recently watched Inglorious Basterds (twice) and must say, I am in love with Quentin Tarantino. No shock there.

Other movies that I thought were good: "Good Dick," (it's not porn, I swear!) "Adventureland,"(1987 carnival workers learning about growing up, really hits home for me...) "The Goods" (funny, like, the kind of funny you only want to see once, but not a waste of time.)

MUSIC: My XM radio recently quit working, so I've had to deal with my regular FM radio, which means I've been listening to a lot of CDs. Kings of Leon never disappoint, but everyone's starting to like them now, which means I'll have to find a new band everyone will listen to in 6 months. I'm liking Ra Ra Riot, Fruit Bats and Camera Obscura a lot right now.

Also, I've been going to the gym a lot more and that means I've been doing the iPod thing a lot more. If you work out, here are some awesome tunes, and I'll think I'll add new ones each week.
BTW: These are not necessarily new songs. Just some of my favorites.

Enjoy.
MY WORKOUT PLAYLIST: WEEK 1
1. Everlong - Foo Fighters
2. Big Brat - Phantom Planet
3. Hunting For Witches - Bloc Party
4. Can't Tell Me Nothing - Kanye West
5. Closer - Nine Inch Nails
6. The Rake's Song - The Decemberists
7. Cause=Time - Broken Social Scene
8. Now We Can See - The Thermals
9. French Navy - Camera Obscura
10. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk

You're thinking: How do I know if I like this crap??
Try this...

and my personal favorite, which I've posted oh so many times before:
